eDNA

Environmental DNA, or eDNA, is the genetic material that all living things, plants, animals, fungi, and microbes, leave behind in soil, water, snow and even air. By simply collecting these samples, we can extract and read this DNA, then identify the different organisms in the area, providing a picture of local biodiversity.

Whole-genome Sequencing

Our whole-genome approach delivers up to 1,000,000× higher resolution than traditional PCR-based eDNA methods (metabarcoding). While they skim a slice of the genome, we sequence it end to end, supercharging detection of rare and invasive species and revealing deep insights into genetic diversity and population structure. It’s the full picture of ecosystem health, unlocked at unprecedented scale.

Bioinformatics

Whole-genome eDNA is powerful, but the data is very complex. Until now, making sense of it required academic-level computing and expertise. Our proprietary algorithms cut through the complexity, delivering fast, accurate biodiversity insights at a scale that are easy to understand and truly actionable.
